Traditional wallets use a 12 or 24-word recovery phrase as a backup. If you lose those words, you lose your crypto, permanently. Ulys works differently.
Your wallet is recoverable through your login. Your private key is split into two encrypted pieces and stored inside tamper-proof hardware enclaves, and it only exists in whole form inside secure hardware during the moment you sign a transaction. Because we've designed the wallet so you don't need a seed phrase, we don't surface one by default.
If you'd rather hold your own copy, you can export your key from the app. It's optional — Ulys works normally without it, and we can't view or export it for you.
