What Is the Difference Between Fees, Gas, and Commission?

  • Fees: These are direct or indirect charges from third-party providers applied to certain value-added features and transactions made through Ulys. They may include costs for on and off ramping digital assets, credit card payments, compliance screening , and fraud monitoring. Fees are typically a fixed or percentage-based amount deducted from your transaction.
  • Gas: Refers to the network transaction cost required to process and validate your trade on the blockchain. This is not a fee charged by Ulys but rather a cost paid to the blockchain network (e.g., Ethereum) to execute your transaction. Gas fees can vary depending on the particular blockchain network and the amount of traffic or congestion .
  • Commission: A specific type of fee that Ulys may charge for facilitating digital asset trades through the platform. Unlike gas, which goes to the blockchain network, commission is collected by Ulys for providing access to different decentralized applications (dApps) and trading facilities, such as DEXs. Commissions are typically a fixed or percentage-based amount deducted from your transaction.
